Public Islamic schools (madrasah negeri) play a strategic role in providing equitable, inclusive, and emancipatory education. This article analyzes the impact of strict student selection, prestige orientation, and inclusive education implementation on achieving national education goals. Based on literature review and previous empirical studies, it was found that selection based solely on academic achievement can exacerbate social inequalities and reduce inclusivity. The implementation of the Love-Based Curriculum and pedagogy that respects diversity has been proven to enhance learning quality and student character. This article emphasizes the need for a holistic redefinition of education success indicators, including academic achievement, character, ethics, and social engagement.
