Abstract

This study examines the role of the school committee in improving the quality of education services in elementary schools and Islamic elementary schools (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah). The research findings identify six main indicators that play a role in assessing the quality of school services: learning services for students, student management and services, facilities and infrastructure, programs and funding, community participation, and school culture. Learning services for students, which aim to provide the best learning process, involve the crucial role of teachers in realizing this goal. This study also highlights how school committees are involved in various quality improvement programs such as full-day school, team teaching, and teacher training programs. Managing student comfort is seen as key to improving achievement, with the school implementing several supporting programs. Adequate facilities and infrastructure are recognized as important factors in supporting quality teaching and learning processes. Although funding issues are often an obstacle, through effective fundraising from parents, the government, and the community, schools are able to carry out their programs. Community participation, reflected in the role of the school committee, has proven successful in fostering harmonious relationships between schools and the community. Strengthening these relationships is essential to improving parental understanding of education and supporting school programs. Overall, the role of the school committee is significant in enhancing the quality of education services through intensive collaboration between schools, parents, and the community.
